Employer Bulletin | 26 June

Issue date

The Government is making changes to the Skilled Migrant Category as part of the immigration rebalance, to help businesses attract workers to fill skill shortages. The announcements included the removal of caps on skilled migrants and the introduction of a simplified points system based on occupational registration, qualifications, or income. Highly skilled individuals will have a faster route to residency, while others can achieve residence status by working in New Zealand. The changes aim to provide clarity and streamline the immigration process, benefiting both businesses and skilled workers.
