Covid-19 highlighted the many flow-on impacts of supply chain disruptions.

Given New Zealand’s distance from large international markets, and our dependence on trade for economic prosperity, a robust and reliable freight and supply chain system is critical.

Covid-19 highlighted the many flow-on impacts of supply chain disruptions, including lack of components to complete manufacture, a shortage of container space and more warehouse space required for extra storage of raw materials.

As part of the wider BusinessNZ Network, BusinessNZ made a submission to the Ministry of Transport in mid-2022 around the nature of these freight and supply chain issues. The Network continues to push for sensible government policy to enable our economy to function as productively as possible.
